Am I too Picky When Dating?

Updated: Jan 29

It's important to have standards and know what you're looking for in a partner, but it's possible to become too picky and limit your dating pool unnecessarily. Here are some signs that you may be too picky when dating:

  1. You have a long list of non-negotiables: If you have a long list of requirements that a potential partner must meet, it's possible that you're being too picky. While it's important to have some standards, having too many non-negotiables can make it difficult to find a compatible partner.

  2. You reject potential partners based on minor flaws: Nobody is perfect, and it's important to keep that in mind when dating. If you find yourself rejecting potential partners based on minor flaws or imperfections, you may be too picky.

  3. You have a hard time committing: If you're always looking for the next best thing and can't seem to commit to a relationship, it could be a sign that you're too picky. You may be holding out for someone who doesn't exist or may miss out on a great partner because they don't meet all of your criteria.

  4. You're never satisfied: If you're constantly finding faults with your partners and can never seem to be satisfied, you may be too picky. It's important to have realistic expectations and not expect your partner to be perfect.

If you think you may be too picky when dating, it can be helpful to reflect on your expectations and see if they're realistic. It's also important to be open to different types of people and not limit yourself too much. Remember that nobody is perfect, and a great partner may not meet all of your criteria but can still be a good fit for you.
